Who am I?

     In preparing to retire from a career as a Unity Minister, I asked myself, “What do I want my life to be about?” I wanted to continue working with people, so it was necessary for me to shift out of the mind-set of spiritual counseling (psychology) and into ontology (“the science of being”) on which the coaching model is based. I knew what a difference the coaching model had made in my personal and professional life, and coaching others to see the greater possibilities in their lives and to recognize what have been their “show-stoppers” in the past was the next natural step for me.

     I am graduated from the rigorous training program at the Academy for Coaching Excellence in Sacramento, CA. The coaching model in which I am certified provides a clarity and directness, which can assist the client to “look, see, tell the truth, and take authentic action.” I am, also, a member of the International Coach Federation and hold the certification of Associate Certified Coach.

     One of my goals is to utilize this coaching model more extensively in the Department of Corrections, especially in the Probation Department. I am currently working with three inmates at a local State Correctional Institution and have observed major shifts in their attitudes. In a recent letter from an inmate he wrote, “I can’t understand why I wasted so many years of my life, now that I’m more aware. I have set and achieved goals, and how great it is!”

     Another of my goals is to utilize the model with high school- and college-aged individuals, to offer them effective tools with which to successfully design their futures.
